Halls of Eden — Koh Phangan, 2025 Halls of Eden is a boutique complex of 12 villas on Koh Phangan, designed with a bold architectural identity that blends contemporary design with subtle references to Thai tradition.
The client’s vision was to create not just functional living spaces, but an environment rich in emotion and meaning — a place where architecture becomes a natural extension of the landscape.
This vision was realized through a series of sculptural rooflines inspired by traditional Thai forms, reinterpreted with modern asymmetry, dynamic overhangs, and expressive geometry that make each villa distinct and memorable.
The facades are crafted in a natural palette and enhanced by floor-to-ceiling glazing, with sliding systems that seamlessly open interiors to the lush gardens and tropical surroundings.
This allowed us to integrate mature indoor palms over two meters tall, bringing nature directly into the heart of the home. Despite the compact footprint, each villa includes 4 bedrooms, a home office, an open-plan kitchen and living area, multiple bathrooms, a laundry room, a covered balcony, and private outdoor lounges.
The material palette features wood, stone, woven rattan, raw jute, and mineral plasters — chosen for their tactile qualities, visual warmth, and climate adaptability. Lighting plays a key architectural role: concealed strips, warm tones, and focused highlights accentuate textures and architectural rhythm.
The communal area is a project in itself — a carefully zoned space that accommodates a gym, yoga and meditation zones, lounge areas, and a reception pavilion.
The reception roof became a standalone art object: emerging from the ground in a single sculptural gesture, it blurs the boundaries between structure, landscape, and art.
